Easy advertising ideas in St. George, Utah and surrounding areas for your business during the summer months.
It’s no secret that Southern Utah can have some pretty incredible hot temps during the Summer months – triple digits seems to be the norm starting in late June.
With the Summer months already a little slower for most businesses, in St. George, Utah, the month of July is practically a ghost town. Between the Independence Day holiday, family reunions, weddings, vacations and Pioneer Day, plus soaring temps – is it any wonder there’s anyone in town ever?
Over my decades in marketing and advertising in Southern Utah and Mesquite – one thing I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter the type of business you’re in (excluding HVAC) – you’re going to experience a slow down during this month.
After years of helping clients in creative ways to try different promotions to attract consumers and keep sales stable during this month, I wanted to share a few tips on how you can incorporate the high temps and summer slow down into your advertising to attract customers!
5 TIPS FOR BUSINESS SUMMER PROMOTIONS
Photo Contests: Engage with your customers – and potential customers – with some fun photos of their summer BBQs, lake trips, vacations and so forth. Have them tag your business on social media or post to your Photo Contest post for a chance to win a prize which should be a product or service from your business.
Exclusive Promos/Discounts: offer an additional 5% OFF your Buddy Mail coupon if the temp goes above 115-degrees! This could also be a fun add-on for your July ad!
Coloring Page Contest: with school out, parents are looking to keep their children entertained. Think about doing a Summer Coloring Contest with a new coloring page each week. Each coloring page could represent a part of your business or product. Announce the winners on social media along with their artwork! Best part, they need to pick up the coloring pages at your business each week — what a great, fun way to get customers on your home court throughout the slower Summer months!
Free Demos: take advantage of the great weather and hold demonstrations of your products/services at your business. If held outside, have the demos early morning or early evening and make sure to provide LOADS of hydration for your customers.
Give Back: with the increase of activities in the summer, many blood banks can run low on supplies. Consider doing a blood drive or some other type of community event and hold it at your business location. Community engagement at its best!
